Double-faced cashmere, loden, and covert cloth — coats cut long, weighted correctly, and finished to be worn hard for twenty winters.
The Coat
Weight is the whole argument.
A coat that hangs badly is almost always too light. We work in cloths from 600 to 900 grams — double-faced cashmere, Austrian loden, English covert — because a coat needs mass to fall straight from the shoulder and swing rather than flap.
Seams are taped. Hems are weighted. Collars are hand-felled so they stand when raised and lie flat when not. The lining is cut generously enough to move in a suit jacket underneath, which is a thing most ready-made coats forget.
Cut to your measure, in your length. We do not round to the nearest inch.

- Polo coat, belted wrap, Chesterfield, covert coat, guard’s coat, and short car coat.

- Double-faced cashmere, cashmere-camel blends, Austrian loden, English covert, Donegal and Shetland tweeds.
- Construction
- Taped seams, hand-felled collar, weighted hem, hand-set sleeves, full or half lining in bemberg or silk.
- Details
- Horn or corozo buttons, hand-worked buttonholes, throat latch, inside chest and passport pockets.
- Lead time
- Ten to fourteen weeks. Cashmere commissions are placed in spring for winter delivery.
- Aftercare
- Annual press and re-proof, plus relining when the day comes. Included.
A good coat should be the oldest thing you own and the first thing anyone notices.
